Perhaps you have recently become interested in spirituality for the first time. Or, you have been engaged in spiritual pursuits and you have lost energy for them. Or worse, you have been the victim of a group that promised you spiritual growth but delivered something quite different. This is a resource for gaining, or regaining, your spiritual autonomy.
You have complete control over your choices and decisions regarding your path. I may discuss mine as we go along, but I don’t expect anyone to adopt it or agree with it.
It’s my intention to offer a conversation to be of service to anyone seeking to regain their connection with the Divine. In my experience, the reason for needing to have that conversation in the first place is simple: Things change. And as William Bridges has written, every change begins with an ending that must precede any new beginning.
Sooner or later, each of us finds we've achieved the goals we set earlier in life, we come to the end of the purpose that drove us, something big falls apart, or we are simply worn out - feeling in need of renewal. The old answers no longer work, and the old structures no longer serve.
We long to return to the state of connection, love, relationship, and well-being. And we may try on different systems, organizations, pathways and beliefs. But, as A Course in Miracles tells us: Nothing outside yourself can save you. Nothing outside yourself can bring you peace.
Not the self that is living in fear and anxiety, the part of you that knows that you are completely connected to, and have never left, your Source. The voice that is hard to hear when things get tough.
The truth is that you are an autonomous spiritual being. You are free and fully capable of making your own choices regarding your purpose, your path, and your life. And it is necessary that you do so. If you are seeking to reclaim your sacred path, then your next question is – how?
We’ll be talking about that. I look forward to the conversation.
