Who Took My Sacred Path?

Or, "Where did I leave it? I know it's around here somewhere..."

As you work to recover or stay resilient on our Sacred Path, there are two voices vying for your attention – your ego, which works very hard to appear to keep you safe by maintaining the status quo or attacking those you perceive as opposing you, and your Higher Self, which encourages your growth, fulfillment, and joy on the journey to purpose, power and peace.

I was asked recently why I focus so much on divination and manifestation techniques in the book if it is really about defining your vision and following it with the highest possible energetic connection to your Source. The answer is that there are times we need help – symbolic help, energetic help, personal counseling help – to bypass the ego and return to our true state – autonomous spiritual beings with the capacity and responsibility to choose and follow the best path for our own soul’s growth.

When we feel lost, or derailed, or directionless and don’t know where to start, we often find ourselves in the grip of fear, guilt, and sadness. These are the principal tools of the ego. So thinking harder, talking more, doing what you have been doing while feeling fearful and stuck, are not going to work. When you find your friends finishing your stories for you, you know you are in a rut. That's when going inward to gather spiritual and intuitive understanding is important.

And so divination – Tarot, Runes, and many other tools -  and the intention setting process of manifestation techniques – help you bypass the yammering of the fearful ego mind and hear the voice of Spirit for yourself. To get to the place where, like the Fool, you can take that step off the cliff in perfect love and perfect trust, not because you have summoned your courage, but because it is the most natural thing in the world to do.

It’s logical to ask “From whom or what am I reclaiming my sacred path?” And this is the answer. The real you is taking back the reins from your resistant ego thought system.

As A Course in Miracles states: “You cannot be faithful to two masters who ask conflicting things of you.”
Your ego would have you believe that things are the way they are, and your present reality is all that is. Your Spirit knows you have unlimited potential for growth and only need to choose the path and begin, and then all help will be available to you.
