I wrote the first verse about the boy who was lynched in New Hampshire, and then discovered I have no energy for outrage and we just need all this to stop, so the second verse after the chorus is about all the haters.
But the bridge is about the people who don't have privilege. And as my eldest pointed out, our first agenda is to heal those who don't have privilege.
Wiccans end every spell/prayer with "for the good of all, with harm toward none" to ask that our intention come to pass only if it does not cause egregious harm to another.
And that's the point.
From a spiritual perspective, none of us are going home until we all go home.
